Welcome to The Digital Home for the Nigerian Diaspora.

Our mission is to foster connection, share stories, and celebrate the resilience and achievements of Nigerians who have ventured beyond Nigeria’s shores in search of the proverbial greener pastures. Whether you’re in North America, Europe, Asia, or Africa, Tribes of Andrew promises to be your digital home away from home.

Our Purpose

This platform was born out of the need to document, engage, and support the ever-growing global Nigerian diaspora—whether you’re in London, Toronto, Dubai, or Johannesburg. In line with this legacy, Tribes of Andrew aims to:

Celebrate Nigerian Successes Abroad: Highlight stories of Nigerians excelling in various fields worldwide, from entrepreneurs and professionals to students and artists.

Build a Supportive Community: Create a space where Nigerians in the diaspora can share experiences, seek advice, and find solidarity.

Preserve Cultural Heritage: Promote Nigerian traditions, languages, and customs through events, stories, and cultural exchanges.

Bridge Continents: Foster connections between Nigerians abroad and their homeland, encouraging contributions that benefit Nigeria’s development.

Our Inspiration

The name “Tribes of Andrew” draws inspiration from the iconic 1984 Nigerian TV advert featuring the character Andrew, played by the legendary actor Late Enebeli Elebuwa. He was depicted as Andrew “checking out” due to Nigeria’s economic and political challenges. Long before “Japa” became a thing, the phrase “Andrew don’t check out” was the rallying cry, urging Nigerians not to abandon their homeland despite hardships. This cultural touchstone symbolizes both the historical context of emigration and the enduring hope of staying connected to Nigeria’s roots.

Join the Tribe

Whether you’re a first-generation immigrant, a Naija-born professional abroad, or simply curious about the Naija diaspora experience, Tribes of Andrew is your space. Together, we honor the legacy of Andrew—not as a symbol of departure, but as a testament to the resilience, ambition, and unity of Nigerians worldwide.
